On February 4, Vice Governor Wang Jinfu met in Fuzhou with a delegation from the Valencian Autonomous Community of Spain, led by José Diez Clemente, Second Vice President and Minister of the Presidency of the Valencian government.

On behalf of the provincial government, Wang welcomed the delegation and briefed them on Fujian’s economic and social development. He noted that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, Fujian and Spain have achieved fruitful results in subnational exchanges and cooperation in recent years. During the Fujian delegation’s visit to Valencia last year, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation and reached a series of consensus. Wang expressed hope to further expand economic and trade cooperation, foster greater synergy in sectors including new energy, textiles and footwear, and food processing, and promote integrated cultural and tourism development. He also called for facilitating personnel and cultural exchanges and advancing port cooperation in areas such as port operations and logistics hub construction, so as to elevate the friendly relations between both sides to a new level.

Clemente said that Valencia and Fujian share a historical connection through the Maritime Silk Road and enjoy broad prospects for partnership. He looked forward to enhancing exchanges, mutual learning, and practical cooperation to achieve complementary growth and mutual benefit.
